Rosethorn Ranger

In short, Rose is a queer disabled anarchist with a main goal of bringing those in their spaces together to build mutual aid networks.

Rosethorn Ranger, who typically goes by Rose, uses different pronouns in different spaces but defaults to it/its and they/them. Its avatar is based on the concept of a fantasy ranger and has no relation to the cop rangers. It makes content in English.

It is disabled. They are unable to drive, and so are impacted by this regularly. It is also autistic, and actively looks for more members of the neurodivergent community to interact with. They are interested in the more niche spaces where neurodivergent people exist among themselves. They are also queer, identifying as a demi-woman as well as trans. It is also an anarchist, specifically an egoist communist. They are also a physicist, but does not currently practice it as they do not feel grad school is safe. They also have a focus on mutual aid, mainly online. It believes that rest is radical, and that working together for rest is not only important but is hard to do as a disabled queer person due to hate and oppression.

Rose has a long list of things they talk about. A common topic is ableism, with a main focus on ableist language. They believe that accessibility is not a universal concept, and instead requires specialization, as different people need different things. This is why it is constantly looking for new accessibility tools and regularly invites people to share ones they are using, to both spread information on them and use them in group spaces such as their discord server. On youtube their focus is videos that go over single topics as concisely as possible, while breaking a topic down into 4 specific parts. A description of a topic, why this description is important and why things must change, what people can do to get involved in changing it, and where they can learn more. This is targeted towards ADHD people and other groups that need shorter videos, as Rose perceives a lack of that in leftist spaces.

Being queer is another main topic. Rose focuses on discussing transition, what gender is, and invites people to bring up their own experiences on the topic as well. They also wish to help any who want to get started with transition and such themselves.

It also discusses anarchism regularly. They often speak on the basics of anarchism as there are many people who have not been introduced to the topic. They do not attempt to convince people using words to become anarchist though, as they are not a fan of debate. Rose believes that the best way to convince people of anarchism is through interaction with our communities and the social structures created by them. It also speaks on what anarchists will have to do to survive things like the ecological collapse we are facing.

When Rose speaks on physics they mainly talk about astronomy. This includes the evolution of the universe over time, what stars are like and what they do, and how humanity can actually measure things far away in space.

They also focus heavily on discussing news. They have a different set of news they focus on each day they stream. On Fridays they talk about current and future pandemics such as covid and long covid, bird flu, and mpox.On Saturdays it looks into climate change and other aspects of environmental collapse so that people can better understand what is likely to happen in the coming years. On Sundays Rose looks into topics such as what is happening in Palestine and what people are doing to influence it.

They also actively work to bring people up to speed on these topics, and want to speak to people directly, and so often starts by asking people their level of knowledge on a topic and works from there. This is mainly done on twitch and their discord server. When this is not happening on twitch they have a different topic each month they tend to default back towards, such as queer issues during pride month. The discord server is organized more around events such as movie nights, ttrpgs, gaming sessions, and helping people socialize that tend to have difficulty doing so.

Twitch is done with the backdrop of games, often queuing with other people in the chat and discord. Rose often plays TF2 (team fortress 2), mc (Minecraft) on their own multiplayer server, dbd (dead by daylight), and dark and darker.

Some things Rose has been involved in are camping, being inches away from a cliff on a downhill turn without breaks, hanging out with people in VC in the discord server on holidays, helping people escape abusive households, and many other things that cannot be discussed here.

Floating in the void, just chilling, is Rose. They are occasionally plucked out of that void to play games, talk about physics, and political theory. They enjoy sitting under trees and reading books, giving presentations, and hiding from people.
