Edit

Liari is a British Red/Arctic Fox VTuber/VStreamer. She originally Debuted in February of 2024 and already has a loyal following of viewers for her content.

She's generally commended for her voice, voice acting and interesting variety streams - ranging between a 30-50 CCV.

Lore Edit

Main start is that Liari and her sister are wandering Kitsune, generally travelling from place to place and while they're looked upon as signs of good fortune, it's common to offer one light work or to request a fortune reading and then move on, rather than to house one. Since they can turn into their fox forms around puberty it tends not to be an issue since they can just live in forests and in urban environments.

After some time of wandering the pair happen upon a travelling Circus manned by Ringleader who is simply ecstatic at finding not one but TWO foxkin and gladly offers them shelter, food, travel and pay in exchange for their services. Liari is skilled at fortune telling, while her sister is too young to have learned any talents yet. Regardless, Ringleader takes them in and raises them as if they were his own daughters.

Some time passes, Liari turns 21 and her sister has learned magical arts - allowing her to put on fascinating light shows for guests to the circus and controlling the flames of dangerous acrobatic tricks to ensure no harm comes to performers. The circus has made multiple town Criers (the news xd) sing praises of a mysteriously accurate fortune telling Kitsune who had correctly divined the winners of the King's various tournaments, brackets and other such historical events - predicting dice rolls and card flips before they're even played. Liari doesn't really believe it, and truly believes that this is all just coincidence - and generally has a nonchalant attitude about fortune telling as a whole.

Intrigued by these findings, the King and an entourage of royal knights pay a visit to the circus to request a fortune of their own. Arriving, he immediately beelines for the Fortune Telling tent and requests Liari to divine him the future of his kingdom. Liari draws his cards and flips them, reading them closely and with a sad look tells him that his wife, the Queen, is pregnant with his first and only male heir. The king is ecstatic - but Liari isn't done. She continues that while his wife will survive the delivery - both she and the child will succumb to a sickness mere weeks after. Angered, the King slams his hand to the desk and claims Liari a fraud and leaves.

Months pass, the Circus has moved on to a different location (though still within the jurisdiction and land of the Kingdom.) News spreads that the Queen has given birth to a healthy baby boy, the kingdom is ecstatic but the King is cautious and orders the lockdown of his wife and the child until they are strong enough. During the lockdown, the Queen (as foretold) contracts an illness from an unknown source (idk the flu or smth), it passes to the child and both perish, painless but cold.

The king is furious and is certain that the Circus and Liari have conspired with enemies in order to perform this assassinati/indebt to the crown. As the small army arrives in the early hours of the morning, they've been told to leave no prisoners and ensure that the "fox girl" is killed. Terrified and trying to protect whom he considers his daughters, the Ringleader bursts into their sleeping quarters and shakes them awake - begging them to shift and run as far and as fast as they can. The oblige, with only a slight explanation and a promise that he will see them again. He gives Liari a foxhead ribbon necklace that he had carved and mentioned it was meant to be for her next birthday - and he hopes he will be able to be there for the next one.

Panicked and scared, the girls shift into fox form and run. Catching their trail, a Lycanman follows them in wolf form. Faster, and more skilled with age he catches up to the pair and manages to catch the sister in his jaws, breaking her neck.

Liari enters a rage, clawing and snapping at the wolf and managing to claw at one of his eyes, causing him to be confused for just enough time for her to pick up her sister's body in her mouth and scamper away once again.

After running herself to exhaustion she realises she's no longer being followed and stops to rest and to mourn. It feels like hours pass, and her throat is dry and there are no more tears in her eyes to cry. She shifts back to human form and walks slowly in any direction, eventually coming across an old abandoned temple. Its pillars are cracked and broken, there's no deity anymore to govern it. Regardless Liari walks to where the deity statue usually would be and screams for anything that would listen - begging the gods to switch their fate. Her life for her sisters. Nothing happens but the howling of the wind - til a sharp voice that Liari can't quite place enters her mind. It tells her that they will grant her wish but have a condition. That she will take the role of Deity of Fate for it has been too long since Fate had been governed. For one that cared so little for her ability to tell fortunes, now she is the one that will watch as fate unfolds. She barely lets them get the sentences out before she screams that she'll take on the role.

Light fills her eyes, and a great Wheel of Fortune appears before her - spinning and eventually landing on the Fox Head. A bell chimes, and the blood soaked body of her sister purifies again - the body less limp and starting to feel warm again. With a light murmuer, the sister opens her eyes and blinks, confused and looking around. Liari regales her the story of what happened.

After taking some hours to come to terms with their newfound immortality, Liari beckons to the voice and asks "What do I do now?" Nothing seems to reply, until "You are a deity. Whatever you want." With that final instruction, the voice fades and is never heard from again. The two feel lightheaded and blink to shake it away - only to find themselves in a great hall surrounded by pillars, a glass flooring with gears underneath and multiple large comfortable seats (couches hehe).

Liari spends many years learning her powers, wanting to understand herself before venturing back into the human world. She discovers that she can find persons of interest and watch their lives through her mirrors - and try as she might she can't find Ringleader. She CAN, however, find the Lycanman. Now nearing an old man of 60. He has a family, a wife and seems to be happy in retirement. Liari beckons to her sister, who has been practicing arcane arts. It seems neither age anymore, and there's all the time in the world to learn. They discuss their want for revenge, and agree that the want has not waned. Confident in this answer, Liari pats her sisters head and ventures for the first time back to the human world.

Wearing a fabric cloak and hood, and late at night, Liari heads towards the door of the Lycanman's home. Confident, and unburdoned she knows exactly what path she will take. As she approaches, she hears the faint sing-song of "happy birthday to you!" being sung, and the excited giggles of a child. Seems it's one of the mans children's birthdays. Regardless, she opens the door and walks in - head held high.

The wolfman is almost unfazed, and reassures his wife and kids that this is to be expected and that they should welcome their guest. He knew this was coming ever since he left Liari and told the King that he had killed them both. He knew that one day she would return from him, and felt blessed for all of the years he had til now - expecting each day to be the last one. He gestures to her and says "I understand why you're here. Can you grant an old man one final hour with his family? Come, join us for dinner." and gestures to the table. Liari isn't a monster, and has no qualms with the family - they were innocent. She sits, and enjoys a meal with the family.

Eventually the man rises and gives a last goodbye to his wife. He tells his kids he's going to talk to the nice fox girl and that he loves them. Liari's face remains unchanged, and her heart remains unfettered.

The two walk together silently until they reach the deathplace of Liari's sister. She begins to ask if he knows the place, but he interrupts and says "aye, this is where I killed her." Barely giving a grunt of acknowledgement, Liari turns her head back to the spot. Years have passed, anyone who wasn't there wouldn't be able to know someone had ever even walked here.

The man speaks again, his voice quivering - obviously fearful. "My family.. they didn't have a part in this." Liari reassures him that she seeks no additional lives. Only his. He nods, and continues "I told the King when I went back that I killed you both. I wish I knew what happened to the rest." Liari nods again and asks the man to sit down, opposite her.

She draws a deck from her pocket, and begins reading cards. While she places them, the man laments that his wife and kids will be devastated. He wishes he could have left them with more. Liari gives a light giggle, but with empty laughter. With a wave of her hand she draws a (idk some card that can reference double something) and a 1:1 copy of the man appears next to him. Almost lifeless, blank eyes with no light. The man is shocked, and looks to her for an explanation.

"Your family need not suffer - they comitted no wrongs. Your sons will grow up with a father, your wife will feel love and they will live their days in happiness without you." and gestures to the double. "This will take your place, he will act as you, be as you and noone will ever know the difference. He has everything but your soul. That will belong to me soon." As she finishes, the mimic seems to gain a light in his eyes. It looks to the man with a pained but understanding grimace and nods to him. "Don't worry, they'll be happy and cared for. I'll go back, and I'll tell her the fox forgave me after seeing the boys. She'll never know, and never mourn."

The man nods, and gives a sigh of relief. He was already ready for death, the only thing holding him back was how to take care of his family - and with that revolves all of the chains holding him to the world were gone. The mimic stands up, and disappears into the night.

"How will you do it?" the man asks, voice still shaking. "Your neck, just as you did her. It will be painless, you will feel nothing."

The man nods silently. "Thank you."

Liari asks him to shift to wolf form, informing him that in this she will skin his form and use his pelt as clothing. He chuckles, and nods. It's common in his culture, and he's amused that a fox adopts it.

The air grows silent again, and he shifts, and sits down. Liari walks behind him, and pets his head, and wraps her arm around his neck. The night stays silent, bar a single quiet snap and the thump of a body.
