There was once a stray black cat, ostracized by society. Everyday was a fight for survival, but the creature lived on through sheer strength and willpower. Unfortunately, despite it's resilience, it fell victim to the villagers' prejudice, and lost it's life due to their irrational fear of the "nekomata". Out of pity, the gods looked down upon the creature and gave it life once more, no longer a feline, but as a human.
